What Does Being Appreciated Look Like to JC Grounds' Snow Fighters?
To some, being appreciated looks like a genuine 'thank you' from management, to some, it looks like a hand-delivered coffee during a snowstorm, to some, it is an annual snow appreciation party to unwind, have some fun, and get hyped up about the upcoming season, but to all, it is familiar tradition at JC Grounds, and it has proven to go a long way.
Each year, JC Grounds Management throws an Annual Snow Appreciation Party. In years past, it has been held on a dinner boat cruise out of Salem harbor as a place for both full time employees and seasonal employees from the previous snow season to kick back, eat a nice meal, and enjoy some entertainment. Entertainment has consisted of everything from belly dancers to political figure impersonators.
This year, JC decided to not only throw the party, but to also host it! Last weekend, JC opened the doors of their new brine facility and offices to serve as the event location. Employees, vendors, and subcontractors alike attended, while comedians, Mark Scalia and Claudia Stavola kept everyone laughing, and Santoros of Peabody kept everyone well-fed.
One evening is a small gesture to show appreciation for the large sacrifice employees make during long, hard hours dedicated in the winter months. Yet a strong representation of the vitality of the employees to the success of JC Grounds. This, as with the other gestures of appreciation has proven to go a long way with JC employees. Represented by returning seasonal employees and long-term duration for full time employees.
